Low Stakes Events Program
Low Stakes is an events training program for young people aged 16-25, using all-ages gigs to explore one of three streams: event management, marketing, or technical production. The team of 10-15 young people will participate in a 10-session program, learning the skills needed for a variety of roles in the music events industry. They will then get to practise and develop these skills through planning and running one ‘Low Stakes’ all-ages gig at Northern Sound System, with future opportunities to volunteer or intern at NSS and other creative organisations in SA.
Event management: explore artist and venue booking and liaising, ticketing, worksheets and venue setup
Marketing: explore social media, media releases, creating assets, promotion, design, photography and videography
Technical production: explore sound and lighting, including understanding audio and lighting systems, stage setups, soundchecks and audio and lighting operation.
