New Music Alert: SIGNV/S
Today young Adelaide metalcore outfit SIGNV/S (pronounced ‘signals’) have released their new single ‘Bury Your Dreams’, the second track lifted from their forthcoming EP ‘disgrace’ due out later this year.
Featuring Tom Drizners from fellow South Australian band OVTSIDER, ‘Bury Your Dreams’ melds clean vocals and melodic instrumentals reminiscent of the likes of Architects, Polaris and Northlane, and delves into the disappointment that can go hand in hand with idolisation.
“‘Bury Your Dreams’ is essentially about the people you idolise not being all they claim/pretend to be,” the band reveal.
“In particular those you look up to who turn out to be real scummy people or who use their platform to harm or intimidate others.”
‘Bury Your Dreams’ was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jarred Nettle at House of SAP in March 2021.
SIGNV/S have been writing music together since early 2020, with influences ranging from Vein, Converge, Alpha Wolf, Knocked Loose, and Polaris.
All singles the band have released have debuted at #1 on the triple j Unearthed Metal Charts, leading to airplay on triple j’s short.fast.loud and The Racket.
They’ve also landed playlisting support from Spotify’s Homegrown & Heavy, and were featured on the cover of HEAVY’s digi-mag earlier this year.
On the live circuit, the band have landed spots opening for the likes of Inhibitor, Life Pilot, Nicholas Cage Fighter, Relapse, and Alt., as well as raising funds for the Heart Foundation at a sold out headline charity show.
SIGNV/S were also selected as one of four grant recipients through N1 Records this year - the artist development program supported by Adelaide’s Northern Sound System.
